These are the rules of the forum. Trust me, they are easy; this is a very low-key forum. However, we do have certain expectations that should be followed, and if an admin finds you guilty of ignoring these rules on multiple occasions you will receive a personal message. If you fail to meet these expectations after you are asked nicely, you will be suspended.
Yes, I know these are long, and you probably hear them all the time. Please, bear with me.
1) Be Nice!
This is the most important. We are a friendly forum devoted to creating a 'community-like' feel. Please don't be rude to others in the cbox or OOC (out of character) boards. This means no spamming, no flaming, no... being annoying or rude in general. Fighting is okay in threads, as long as it is reserved to the characters.
2) Be Active!
This is probably the second most important (no, I am not trying to create a pattern). This forum is for people who have the time to post at least once every three days. We are not looking for members who think that they only have to post every two weeks or so. If you are in a thread, being inactive holds up everyone else. If you are going to be absent for a long period of time, please tell us in the Vacations board. Activity checks will be posted every so often and characters that don't reply after a set amount of time will be DELETED!
3) No God-Modding!
Please, please, please only roleplay your own character. They are the only person that you are in charge of. If everybody could control each others' characters, then... it wouldn't be roleplaying. It would be a large, twenty person novel. And... just plain confusing.
4) Be Mature!
Okay. I am NOT going to put up with immature people who think that swearing is its own language in itself and is a proper substitution for actual English. Occasionally, swearing is fine, but don't get carried away. Also, no sexist attitudes here. We are a high school forum, so relationships are part of the deal. But please, be mature about it.
5) Text Speak Is For Phones, Not Forums
M'kay guys, u all no dis 1! No txt speek, nun, or u will b banned.
I am not joking.
This is my biggest pet peeve on a forum.
Here are a few rules while posting:
*Use proper spelling. If there are a few misspells here and there it's fine, but no over-abbreviating to the point where I want to rip my hair out.
*Form cohesive sentences. We are a roleplay that is focused on leisure, meeting people, and having fun threads, but we still expect intermediate posting material.
*Stay in character. If you have an OOC message to relay, do it at the beginning or end of a post using double parenthesis (()) or something of the sort.
*At least one paragraph. No one sentence posts. If it isn't at least FIVE, WELL THOUGHT OUT SENTENCES, then don't post it at all.
*Separate speech from descriptions. No, don't just type away. No, don't just make it a different color. I have seen everything under the sun that some people think passes for quotation marks. The only thing that actually passes for quotation marks are "" quotation marks!!
*Third person. No I, no we, unless it is in an italicized thought. Kara was... Emily is... John walked... that is third person.
I understand that everyone has their own personal flair, so these rules can be bent a bit. But please, don't take craft scissors and just go to town. You have your liberty: Don't abuse it.
Thank you for taking the time to read these! Have fun!
