Tara folded her arms, staring around at the lunchroom with a cross expression. There was today's breakfast plastered all over the walls. Orange juice had been spilled all over the floors, and oatmeal was smeared on top of one of the tables. All around her were overturned trays and dirty napkins.
She pursed her lips. Tara didn't like when people misbehaved this way. Her students often said that she had two sides, and it wasn't easy to make her snap. But this time, she was pissed.
"I can't believe it," she said to nobody. "What makes them think that they have the right to treat the school this way?"

"Their teenagers who think they rule the world." he said having heard what Tara had said. She had said it to herself and probably didn't expect an answer but he had given her one anyway so... yeah... End of story.
He glanced at the words that were already written in the mess of food spelling out such things as *uck you snakes to, We love you kittens, and other insults littered the walls along with requests for the upcoming dance.
He was actually shocked at how appropriate most of the messages were, but then again it looked like it had been one hell of a food fight. He wished he'd been there. It'd been a while since he'd actually been in a food fight.

Tara looked over at the new face. He was tall, and she definitely recognized him as an Elite. What was his name? Jared... Jake... Oh, she remembered now.
"Jayden, right?" Tara asked, uncrossing her arms when she realized how unapproachable she must look and shoving them into her pockets instead. "I don't think we've officially met."

Jayden gave her a blank stare, he was sure they had met before, or at least talked to each other before as he was pretty sure she was the leader of the tiger dorm, "Um I'm pretty sure we've met Tara, once if not twice," he said thoughtfully, the heads of the dorms were always settling disputes between the different students.
Really he'd rather be out in the water. "Well are we the ones who have to clean all of the food up? Or do we get to assign that to the lucky ones who got detention?" he asked Tara hopefully. [/blockquote]

Tara looked at him. He was a lot taller than she was. Come to think of it, most people were a lot taller than she. She crossed her arms again - it was a habit.
"Oh, you're the Shark dorm guy. Yeah, I know you," Tara said, remembering slightly. "I haven't seen you around in a while. Don't you spend all day at the beach?"
She looked around at the mess and added, "I'm nobody's maid. I didn't sign up for this position to wipe mustard off of walls. If the school wants this place cleaned, then they'd best hire someone especially to do it. This place could probably use another hand to keep things tidy, what with all of the fights recently."

Jayden looked over at Tara like she was nuts, he was pretty sure he didn't just call her a maid of any sort but if she wanted to wear a french maid outfit he wouldn't mind... back to reality, he did just say something about the idiots who landed themselves with detention actually doing the work right?
"Uh... you as a maid?" he said and then couldn't believe that actually made it out of his mouth. What was the term, word vomit? That sounded right.
"I... didn't mean to say that..." he said tussling his long blond hair with his hand to hide what an idiot he had just made of himself.

Tara gave him a strange look. She raised an eyebrow, not quite sure what Jayden was talking about. She wasn't quite sure what to make of that last comment, but judging by the way he buried his hand in his hair she was guessing that he hadn't really meant to say it. He looked kind of... awkward. She smiled, trying to guess what he was probably thinking at the moment.
"Don't worry about it," Tara said, her hands still hiding in their respective pockets. Her posture had gotten progressively worse over the years, which was strange considering the fact that she was generally a tidy person. "I just came over because I heard a commotion. It was a bit too late, and the fight had pretty much calmed down by the time that I got here. I can't even tell how it started, so handing out detentions is out of the question..."
She looked around the cafeteria. It was a wreck; it would take days to unearth the floor, let alone the tables... Tara sighed. She hoped that she wasn't expected to be part of the clean up crew.
"Still," she commented, "it looks like a food twister hit this place."

He sighed flicking his hair out of his eyes and shifting his weight. "Yeah the place looks... eww." he picked his foot up off the ground after hearing a rather unpleasant squelching sound from the floor where his foot had previously been.
Not good.
He sighed wishing he had been at the beach before he had been swept up into the room, "I liked these shoes." They were skate shoes, or what he was pretty sure was skate shoes without being given a definition of what skate shoes were. Not that he cared as long as they got him to the beach and back.
Now he remembered why he didn't like food fights.

Tara laughed as Jayden picked up his shoe. There was something red on the bottom of it, something that looked kind of sticky. With a few moments of careful examining of the sole, along with the pile of food on the floor, she decided that it was probably the remains of a cheeseburger.
"I think that was a cheeseburger," she said, smiling, "and from the looks of it, you weren't the first one to step on it. I'm not sure you're going to want to be wearing those shoes again."
She walked over to the silverware station and grabbed one of the left over napkins. Tara rejoined Jayden and presented him with the napkin, adding - in a very melodramatic, joking way - "I'm sorry for your loss."

Jayden rolled his eyes, and took the napkin and tried to scrape the whatever it was off his shoe, "Eww." he sighed glancing over at Tara, "thanks for your moral support."
He really hated clean up duty. It really didn't make much sense, to start a food fight when all you'd get was an hour of detention.... but it was a lot of fun.

Tara laughed and rolled a corn dog over with her shoe. Over some time, she had managed to create a small sanitary circle by clearing away all of the food around her in about a two foot radius.
"How about we just... leave and pretend like we were never here?" Tara suggested, brushing away an adventurous napkin that had invaded her protective circle. She didn't want to end up like Jayden with a cheeseburger shoe.

Jayden snorted and grabbed the wayword napkin in order to remove the remains of the burger off his shoe unsuccessfully scrape it off his shoe as it was but he at least he had tried to remove it. "Well we might as well before the cake comes down." he pointed at the cake that was raining pieces down on the rest of the cake fell down from the ceiling.
He glanced up at the cake as it began to rain down another chunk of the edge pieces and with a cheeseburger firmly attached to his shoe he didn't feel like he needed chocolate cake in his hair.
He walked carefully out of the large room making sure not to step in any other messy situations. "Well this wasn't in in the job description." he muttered to himself.

Tara frowned at the cake. She moved out of the way from some falling dessert, wondering how it had managed to stick up there for so long.
"Darn, maybe I should have eaten lunch at the academy today," Tara said, staring at the chocolate-frosted cake splattered on the slated ceiling. "I didn't know there would be cake..."
She had gone to Riverside for lunch today; the cafe was one of her favorite spots to eat. She knew the people who worked there well, and was good friends with the owner. So, every few days she would pay them a visit. Still, Tara considered the chocolate cake dripping from the ceiling. It looked pretty good... maybe if it wasn't so smooshed.

Jayden rolled his eyes at the cake comment, "Well I don't particularly want it now..." he said slowly looking at the small pieces of cake on the ground now. He was always more of a vanilla person.
Or even a coffee person, coffee is a good flavor of ice cream, "I like coffee ice cream myself." [/color]

Tara smiled, looking up at the ceiling. She awkwardly placed her hands on her hips, where she found that they felt utterly conspicuous and out of place, and took them down again. Tara became inexplicably conscious of a strand of hair that had fallen into her face; she fiddled with it absentmindedly. After realizing that she was awkwardly playing with the strand, she put her arms back on her hips, and brought them back down again after a short moment.
"Coffee?" She asked, smiling. She felt like she was smiling too big... she toned the smile down a bit. Oh, why did she have to be so awkward all of the time?? "I like coffee too. Maybe if you're free, we could get some sometime."
Tara quickly shook her head, realizing that she might have made a mistake. "I mean, I'd like to get to know you better. But not in a weird way! And I know you said coffee ice cream, not coffee, but what's the difference, really? I mean I know that there's a difference... I'm not stupid, or anything-" Tara paused to laugh awkwardly, "- but it's not too far of a stretch from coffee ice cream to coffee, you just need to take out the last two words... and warm it up a bit--"
